1)Why do you want to be an ABC rep?
After serving asan ABC representative for this current year, I would like to continue the workI have already begun and see it completed next year. Specifically, I wouldlike to continue examining the methods in which groups are funded by ABC, aswell as focus on the external policy of ABC: focusing on the needs of groups oncampus.
2)As an ABC Rep, which groups would you be most interested in representing?Explain your interest in those groups as well as any prior experience withthose groups or other related qualifications.
I would like torepresent the theater/sketch comedy groups. After representing them this year,I have created a close relationship with the groups, as well as anunderstanding of their needs and goals. I would like to work with them againto see those goals fulfilled, as well as be a resource to them in the nextyear.
3) Namesome changes that you believe would positively impact ABC?
I think that ABCneeds to first and foremost represent the needs of its groups to theadministration. This year, we held mixers for different types of groups in thebeginning of the year to discuss issues they have with the system and what wecan do to fix it. I would like to see this continue and maybe even expanded toincorporate other types of groups, as well.
4)Name 1-3 policy initiatives that you think ABC should pursue next year.
I believe ABC should focus itsexternal policy on the space issue. Next year is going to be a critical yearin the issue over space for student groups, and I believe ABC, asrepresentative of its constituent groups, should serve as a voice to theadministration and lobby them to create more space for students. This couldmean the opening of e-classrooms in Hamilton or limiting the graduate schoolsÕaccess to Lerner, especially during peak times.
