ABC Reps help groups navigate the Columbiabureaucracy, aid groups in event & financial planning and support thedevelopment of student life on campus. Reps are advocates for the groups theyoversee and are crucial in identifying areas in which ABC, the administration,and other student leaders can help improve students' experiences at Columbia.
The Rep sits on the Activities Board, whichconsists of 20 members. Throughout the year, the ABC votes on the allocation offunds, recognition of student groups, the granting of appeals and has a vitalrole in determining the agenda for the Activities Board. We are seeking 13highly motivated and passionate individuals to apply for these positions. Thisis a great place to learn more about student groups and funding, to gainleadership experience and to make an impact on campus.

1)Why do you want to be an ABC rep?
Iwant to see student groups get what they want, and I would like to be a part ofmeeting the expectations of the many students who are involved in the numerousgroups on campus and seeing the goals and visions of these groups fulfilled. Ihave a heart for seeing students make the most of their time here at Columbiaand being active is a tremendous part of finding an enriching experience incollege. I want to ensure that students get what they set out for and provide asource of motivation for student groups to expand and take on rewardingendeavors.
2)As an ABC Rep, which groups would you be most interested in representing?Explain your interest in those groups as well as any prior experience withthose groups or other related qualifications.
I want to represent the Performance groups, particularly the dance orinstrumental/vocal groups because I see these groups as a unifying force oncampus, bringing students together to enjoy performances of all kind. IÕd liketo be see the quality and quantity of these performances increase and supportstudents as they seek out their passions and talents in these groups.
3) Namesome changes that you believe would positively impact ABC?
Iwould like to increase and enhance communication with executive board membersof groups.
Iwould also like student groups to be better educated about the ABC process,guidelines and rules.
Iwould also like to have a connection and invested interest in each of thegroups that I represent and promote this type bond through consistentinteraction on a more personal level.
4)Name 1-3 policy initiatives that you think ABC should pursue next year.
ABCrepresentatives should meet more frequently with clubs to receive feedback onhow representatives can better serve the group by understanding thefrustrations of the group, the direction the group is moving and what specificneeds they would like to have met.
