Description: Every year, Asian Pacific American Awareness Month (APAAM) hopes to take a different approach to organizing the heritage month and representing Asian Pacific Americana socially, politically, and culturally. This past year, for APAAM 2007, we explored the evolution of the Asian Pacific American community, highlighting the voices of each generation, which carry the struggle, activism and passion rooted in divergent experiences and in vast but rich histories. In our attempt to highlight all these voice, we attempted to engage the Columbia community and the greater New York community by drawing in performers, artists, children and mothers, scholars, movie directors, and professionals to share their stories.
