Ukrainian Students Society

Description: The Ukrainian Students Society of Columbia University is an ABC and SDA recognized group. The Ukrainian Students society is made up of students who are interested in Ukraine, of Ukrainian background, or from Ukraine. The clubs focus is to provide the community with an awareness of Ukrainian culture and heritage. We work closely with the Ukrainian Studies and various Ukrainian Organizations in the New York area, as well as various other student clubs, in particular, the Russian International Association and the Polish Club. The Ukrainian Students Society has members from all parts of Ukraine. From Kharkiv to Lviv, from Kiev to Odessa. We have members who speak Ukrainian, Russian, both Ukrainian and Russian and only English. We have Ukrainian Orthodox, Jews and Catholics. What matters in our club is that we all believe in Ukaine. We do not hold the view of only one part but of all Ukraine. Yes, we are nationalists. We believe in the nation of Ukraine, Lviv to Luhansk, Chernihiv to Sevastopil. That is our country. The Ukrainian Students Society plans and takes part in various events throughout the year. Our events range from Ukrainian movie nights, Ukrainian food nights, political discussions, lectures from professors to parties and bar nights. We organize and take part in a wide spectrum of events.
